Pilar is an author, poet, teacher and student of the perennial philosophy.
Pilar teaches the practice of “in the world but not of the world”, to remain present and engaged in the physical world, while remembering our higher self is beyond this physical world. Through focused integration of the physical and the spiritual, one can find peace, contentment and purpose.
Pilar believes that all authentic spiritual paths are valid, and in finding the path that resonates with your personal best. As yogis do, Pilar supports students on the path they have chosen. She follows Advaita Vedanta personally, the philosophy that teaches we, along with all manifest world, are part of One Reality.
As part of her training, Pilar studied the classical texts of yoga, breathing and relaxation, diet and nutrition, hatha yoga asanas, pranayama, meditation, anatomy and physiology. Pilar is also a graduate of The Yoga of Spiritual Coaching, which included the study of yoga psychology (koshas, chakras,) as well as yoga nidra (deep sleep) hands on healing, mantra, energy work, professional ethics, self-care, tapping into one’s inner wisdom and intuition as well as other practices.
A graduate of Rutgers College of Engineering, she also manages a professional office in environmental engineering. Pilar is married, and a loving parent to her two grown children. She also shares her life with a horse, two dogs and a cat.
